New Computer

Post by Logan » January 22nd, 2011, 6:24 pm

SO, My laptop broke so I am using an old computer BUT I have order a new one, Tell me what you think.
I'll start off by saying I am building this myself from scratch.

First we have a GIGABYTE GA-H57M-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel H57 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard. I really like Intel Motherboards, Something about them seems better than most others. Also it has the new USB 3.0 :) So it was a nice deal coming to a total of $120.00

Next I ordered Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive. Although it is only 500gb, I get 3.0gb/s for the price of 50.00

Next is Intel Core i3-540 Clarkdale 3.06GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80616I3540. DUAL-CORE I know it isn't a quad core, but it is sposed to run like a quad core. I am hoping so. Came with the Motherboard, coming out to be 115.00, But both of them were sold for a deal to me for $220.00, 15.00 Savings.

Then for my powersupply I got the Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply. A powersupply comes with my case, but those are usually cheap and break quickly and for $60.00 I had to grab it.

My computer case is the RAIDMAX Tornado ATX-238B Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case. I like raidmax, and It looks neat also. $28.00 Cheap but durable.

Video cards in my opinion are the most important thing in the WHOLE Computer. I didn't have much to work with but it was the most expensive part of the computer coming out to $150.00 was the XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card.

For memory I got G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL. ^^^^^^^ , 2, for $50.00

I also threw in a Mouse, and keyboard combo. Good reviews for a cheap price was i-rocks brand. $28.00 total

All together after shipping and all my deals it came to a total of $610.24

NOTICE: No Monitor, No DVD-ROM, ETC. I have Everything else in my spare parts.

So NU, U LIEK? ITT post Your computer specs, And What you think about mine.

ORDERED ALL FROM NEWEGG.COM, Greatest deals around!

^ yeah. I like mine, but it's so unreliable. That could just be HP but I've gone through a motherboard and a hard drive, and now I think the next one might be going...
