Well, as the story goes, Anonymous leaked some important papers (US Pentagon or something equally absurd) unto WikiLeaks, and since then it's been considered a hazard by the American Gov't.
Also, there are are a terrifying amount of idiots in this world that Watch TV or read up some article on their favorite News site, and perceive it to be the truth. So if the Commie News Network, per say, says that WikiLeaks is a threat to our freedom, there goes half of america spreading the BS
